GayWebHosts.Com Passes Real-World Tests

At GayWebHosts.Com, we have always prided ourselves on our network’s reliability and security. In the last several months, our network’s stability has been put to some of the most rigorous real-world tests and passed with flying colors. Take a look at how our network weathered these storms and see why we’re the clear choice for your business’s mission-critical hosting solutions.

Northern & Central USA Power Blackouts
Even though our Network Operations and Tech Support Centers are both located in the areas affected by the blackouts that darkened New York City and much of the central and eastern United States & Canada, none of the more than 200,000 web sites served by our network were down for even a second. Our Operating Center’s redundant back-up power supplies kept the Center running until our back-up generators were able to take over the full power load of our servers and routing equipment. With this power system, our network is able to run independent of the country’s power grid for an unlimited period of time. All power functions switch over instantly and automatically, so there is never any down time.

Blaster & SoBig Viruses
Every network on the Internet has been deluged with emails sent from the millions of computers infected with the two most recent viruses (and the most wide-spread viruses ever). Many email systems simply shut down or became so clogged that legitimate mail took hours to be delivered. Our network was similarly hit with millions of emails, but due to the high-bandwidth nature of our network, we were able to handle the huge increase in traffic without a hitch. Our sophisticated SpamVault feature was also quickly modified to block the virus emails and the many error emails that they generated, saving our clients hours of wading through the hundreds of dangerous virus-laden emails that were sent to their domains.

Denial of Service Attack
You’ve read about them in the news—a well-orchestrated attack takes down a major web site. It’s happened to Yahoo & Microsoft, among many others. On Monday, August 25, 2003, our network underwent a massive Denial of Service attack. The hackers arranging the attack sent thousands of requests per second for non-existent pages from servers on our network. While the Network slowed down and service was slow from some quadrants of the Internet, the hackers were unsuccessful in bringing the network down. Access to all websites on our network was maintained throughout the ordeal, and our network routing was modified to deflect the attackers and restore the network to normal operating status within hours.

Zero Down-time in the last 12 months!
We guarantee 99.9% uptime. We’ve achieved 100% uptime! During the period from September 2002-August 2003, our network was up and serving web pages continuously. No down-time was reported or recorded across our entire network during that 12 month period. Most of our competitors also guarantee 99.9% uptime, but most of them cannot claim the reliability record that we consistently achieve.
